My experience comes from nearly 25 years in the insurance industry. I have also spent seven years on the Hawke’s Bay/Poverty Bay Committee of the Insurance Investment Association, including time as President.
During this time, as I was heavily involved in the Hawke’s Bay finance industry, I found my path crossed regularly with Mike Murray, and the two of us realised we shared the same vision for our clients. From here, Cole Murray was formed. As the business has grown I have become involved in the operational side of things.
While the English accent gives away my country of origin, I have actually lived in Hawke’s Bay since I was 12 and now reside in Havelock North with my wife Gail. Our two adult daughters have well left home now and are succeeding in their own careers. Outside of the business, I spend a lot of time exploring the great New Zealand outdoors – the current challenge is tackling Te Araroa – the long New Zealand trail which is 3000km long. Along with Mike, we’ve currently have 203 km to go!
